History

JAMES W. MARTIN

James W. Martin began his education career as an elementary school teacher in 1937 after graduating from North Texas State. He went on to teach at every level before becoming superintendent of the 色窝窝无码一区二区三区.

During his tenure, Arlington grew from a district of three elementary schools, 1,300 students and 40 teachers to a bustling district of 23 elementary schools, seven junior highs, three high schools and a population of more than 30,000.

Mr. Martin served the school system for 31 years. Martin High School is the only high school in the district not named for a historical figure in Texas.

Martin died on December 4, 1997 at the age of 83.
