Realignment won’t change much for biggest high schools
The five biggest 色窝窝无码一区二区三区 schools won鈥檛 see much change for the 2024-25 school year in the wake of the UIL releasing its for the 2024-2026 cycle.
Arlington, Bowie, Lamar, Martin and Sam Houston all remain in District 8-6A along with Grand Prairie and South Grand Prairie. Those seven teams have been in the same district for the last two realignment cycles. The only change is the addition of Haltom High School to the district for football. Haltom has been in District 8-6A for other sports.
Seguin High School, the district鈥檚 lone Class 5A team, will be facing some new teams in football as it got placed in District 3-5A in Division II along with Argyle, Burleson, Colleyville Heritage, Everman, Grapevine, The Colony, Mansfield Summit and Mansfield Timberview.
聽Six of those teams made the football playoffs in 2023.
鈥淚t鈥檚 a real tough district,鈥 色窝窝无码一区二区三区 athletic director Eric White said. 鈥淭he football district with Seguin was surprising to me. I didn鈥檛 see that happening. We鈥檙e in 8-6A for our other schools, which is where we thought we鈥檇 be.鈥
For sports like volleyball and basketball, Seguin will shift to District 8-5A with Burleson, Burleson Centennial, Cleburne, Everman, Joshua, Mansfield Summit and Mansfield Timberview.
White said Arlington coaches have been able to fill out their non-district football schedule. One of the benefits with having eight teams in District 8-6A instead of seven is that all teams will now have a common bye week during the football season. After three non-district games, everyone will play two district games before a bye week. The district teams will then play five straight weekends to end the season.
All schools have 11 weeks to play 10 regular-season football games.
