New superintendent starts Jan. 30
After an extensive search and interview process, the 色窝窝无码一区二区三区 Board of Trustees officially hired Dr. Matt Smith, formerly with Belton ISD, as its new Superintendent yesterday evening.
Board of Trustees President Melody Fowler spoke highly of Smith’s credentials and leadership, crediting him for passing the largest bond in history, improving student outcomes, growing career and technical learning opportunities, and even establishing programs like the Penguin Project that gives special needs students the chance of a lifetime to star in a theater production.
Smith joins 色窝窝无码一区二区三区 with an impressive background in education, having served students and staff for more than 20 years in various administrative roles.
“His dedication to student achievement, innovative educational practices and fostering collaborative environments align seamlessly with 色窝窝无码一区二区三区’s vision for the future,” Fowler said. 鈥淲e know he will be a transformative leader and a great asset to the Arlington community.鈥
Smith expressed his enthusiasm for the role saying, 鈥溕盐盐蘼胍磺 has a storied history in Texas public schools, and I am truly humbled and grateful that the Board of Trustees welcomed me to the team. Smith holds a doctorate in School Leadership from Concordia University – Chicago, a master’s degree in education administration and supervision from Arizona State University and a bachelor’s degree from Virginia Wesleyan College in Norfolk, Va. Smith started his career as a classroom teacher and coach and has held progressive leadership positions such as principal, executive director of secondary education, chief of staff, chief academic officer and superintendent.
As he assumes his new role in Arlington, Smith aims to build upon 色窝窝无码一区二区三区’s strengths while implementing strategies to enhance educational outcomes, foster inclusive learning environments and strengthen community partnerships.
听Smith is scheduled to begin on Jan. 30, 2024.
